Red Robin Christmas Markets

We happened upon a market last week that was a treasure trove of decorations and items from across Nepal, Bangladesh, Peru, and many other places.

It was the Red Robin Christmas Market, and it featured Adelaide women working in a variety of ways to make a difference in the life of underprivileged women in developing countries.

Among other things, there were;

  • Silver and precious stone jewellery from Nepal,
  • Handmade Christmas angels from Bangladesh,
  • Hand embroidered traditional “Kantha Quilting” from Bangladesh, and
  • Hand woven “Kuba cloth” from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It was a pretty big surprise to us walking in to a random market expecting the usual and finding such unique items.

We ended up walking out with an assortment of goods, including a set of Tibetan prayer flags, a Peruvian drum and an Indian wall hanging.
